Codemasters сьогодні виклала в інтервнет PC-демо проекту Overlord, це той, що вважає себе спадкоємцем серії Dungeon Keeper.

Secondly, a large proportion of games tend to – simply through their construction – severely restrict their own ability to create the build-up before dramatic decisions are to be made. Moreover, and probably more significantly, players can save their progress before making the choice, verify whether its outcome is beneficial enough to pursue, and only then make the actual decision, depending on what proves most advantageous. Now tell me, where is the fun in that? We addressed the problem by introducing a certain time delay before the consequences of any decision become apparent. Only after a couple of hours of gameplay will the player have to confront the outcomes of his choices. As a result, the gamer will truly have to follow his own consciousness, as he increasingly empathizes with Geralt and his predicaments. Even more significantly, however, whatever choices are made, all are equally valid, as all make the plot progress. Moral dilemmas, therefore, need to be treated as a price to be paid for the attainment of results. The consequences of these choices will steadily keep building up throughout the plot. A point I would like to add is that players will always be made fully aware why they are where they are in the story, as special cut-scene “flashbacks” will be employed.

FiringSquad: What other new features will the expansion pack have?

Kevin Saunders: There’s one major gameplay system that we’ve developed with Wizards of the Coast. It’s not something from D&D, but it’s D&D flavored. This new feature has both combat and conversation implications and is intimately tied into the story and characters. We’ll be releasing more information in the near future.
We implemented many other new features, most of which are to further polish the NWN2 experience for both the player and for the content creator using the toolset. For example, we added the ability to use any 2D graphic as a custom portrait for creatures instead of the automatically generated 3D portraits.
And, of course, we added a lot on the gameplay side, including over 50 new spells, over 50 new feats, new items, crafting system enhancements, etc. 

Bioshock відео та прев΄ю

1UP став героєм дня. У порталу вийшло кілька годин пограти в Bioshock і вони написали докладне прев΄ю, набите спойлерами. Якщо опустити шматки сюжету й відразу читати висновок, то можна довідатися: Bioshock грається як бойовик, але патронів отут часто не вистачає - гра просто змушує нас користуватися іншими способами боротьби; виглядає ж гра в перші години просто разюче, відмінно управляється, а ще вона фантастично атмосферна.
Після цього візиту в мережі з’явилася купа свіжих роликів: П’ять презентацій спецсил в Bioshock і ролик, що 1UP зняли в офісі Irrational Games.

Overlord - прев΄ю на CVG

На сайті CVG з΄явилось прев΄ю на Overlord.

You won’t get through any articles about Overlord without reading the words Fable and Pikmin at least eight times, but Triumph Studios’ action-RPG really is, very simply, Fable mixed with Pikmin. Not since The Matrix: Path Of Neo has a game been so describable. Sometimes, writing about games is easy.

From Fable it takes its art style, the wonderful colourful world, the exaggerated characters and ear-stabbingly enthusiastic voice-acting. You play an evil lord, resurrected to reclaim the world after being vanquished by seven valiant heroes. These heroes have become grotesque representations of the equally numerous deadly sins, such as a fat-bastard gluttonous halfling and a gold-obsessed dwarf. As an evil lord, you must destroy the seven heroes, rebuild your tower and establish yourself as the almighty leader of all you observe. 

P.S. Гра мабуть буде дуже схожа на Dungeon Keeper і ще дуже добре бо вже набридло грати всілякими рятівниками світів.
