Продовжуючи тему новорічних топів. Game|Life опублікував свій ТОП 10 найбільших розчарувань 2007 року. На першому місці відомий всім Two Worlds:
“Two Worlds. It was called the “Oblivion killer,” and if Two Worlds had managed to pull through with its promises of dynamic combat, expansive storytelling and online play, it very well could have been. Sloppy controls, broken online, and numerous glitches made Two Worlds virtually unplayable, however. On those rare occasions that it wasn't crashing, its blindness-inducing menus and useless journal system made exploring the Kingdom of Cathalon an exercise in drudgery. Zuxxez Entertainment is doing its best to support Two Worlds just the same, releasing patches and new content that have, so far, failed to make much difference.”

Ви чекали на Sacred 2? Якщо так, то для вас є невтішна новина - чекати прийдеться довше. Ascaron на офіційному сайті гри опублікувала лист, де повідомляє про перенесення довгоочікуванного продовження успішної Action\RPG Sacred на вересень 2008 року.
Ось і лист:
“Dear friends and fans of SACRED 2 – Fallen Angel
We would have preferred to announce the delay to the release date at an earlier stage, but there are many reasons why we could only inform you of it now.
A longer development process requires maximum performance in all areas, and a large number of people are involved in that process. In a crucial decision making phase it is impossible to communicate important news directly – we hope you understand.
An extension of the development process was necessary in order to ensure that we realize all the development plans and ship both PC and Xbox 360 versions with the best possible quality and stability.
A game as complex as SACRED 2 – Fallen Angel, with its many technical innovations, requires extensive testing and balancing in all areas. In certain areas of development we often had to make our way into uncharted territory when it came to implementing the new technologies which are required to make SACRED 2 – Fallen Angel the game that we set out to make. This inevitably led to situations where satisfactory realization of a vision took a bit longer than originally planned.
So, what to do? Scrap features? No, definitely not!
Patch with a patch as only a patch can patch? No, that's also out of the question!
The most important thing, after all, is the game. Fortunately for everyone, we are in the enviable position where all involved parties (share holders, banks and distributors) agreed to our plans for continuing to develop SACRED 2 – Fallen Angel according to our vision and create the best action RPG possible.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to our partners for their support and belief in both Ascaron and in SACRED 2 – Fallen Angel.
We'd like to ask our fans and friends for their understanding, and we hope that any potential disappointment is outweighed by looking forward to a superb SACRED 2 – Fallen Angel release in September 2008. Indeed, it is quite likely that many of you will have a chance to beta test the game.
Shortly before the release we'd like to make a demo available to the public and, who knows, maybe we will have a surprise ready for the Games Convention 2008… Watch this space.
You can rest assured that the Ascaron team is pulling out all the stops to deliver a SACRED 2 – Fallen Angel game that not only meets the high expectations, but blows those expectations clean out of the water!

Alan Miranda з Ossian дала інтерв`ю сайту GameShark. Говорили про один з найвідоміших модулів до NWN2 - Mysteries of Westgate, а також назвали дату релізу - січень.

“Back to the game itself. Since the players will need to choose between allegiances, how drastically will their choices affect the outcome of the game?
Alan Miranda: Some choices will be very drastic indeed (saying more would spoil the story). Just know that our goal was to provide an adventure where players were offered a lot of choices, so based on how they choose their allegiances, it will change both how the game plays out at the start, as well as towards the end. In terms of gameplay time alone, different choices will alter half of the core storyline for the player.”

Як вже було обіцяно, вийшла повна версія Eschalon: Book 1 для платформи ОС Linux.

На Worthplaying з`явилось рецензія на NWN2: Mask of the Betrayer. Оцінка 8.1/10.

“It wasn't far from the end of the first chapter that I became completely overwhelmed: Enemies had gained the ability to slay my level 19 Barbarian/Weapons Master in one hit, and dumping every spell Safiya had in her inventory didn't seem to be helping matters any. Even with other characters doing support duty during the epic fight at the end of Act I, things often came to a bloody and brutal end. I ascribe a lot of this to my inexperience with high-level characters and monsters. Based on this, I really have to suggest that players interested in Mask finish NWN2 first, simply so they have a smooth grasp on the intricacies of the game…
…The manual takes great pains to point out the interface changes, optimizations and overall improvements to the engine, but to be very honest, I didn't see much of it, aside from a few new color and lighting effects. Mask still has one of the most severe problems I noted with the original package: In many ways, the graphics are just a notch above average, but even with a relatively powerful machine (more substantial than when I reviewed NWN2 last year), frame rates are rather low, the characters look strictly okay, and there is a lot of stuttering and slowdown when things get hectic. Again, I have to question an engine that has this many issues running adequately on a dual-core system with a strong video card…
The module itself, as with the original campaign, helps to move focus past the technical foibles and back to the game itself. Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer is every bit as tightly written as the original, though it moves much faster and is a fair sight shorter. I do, however, like the characters, and it's pretty awesome that your lead character can, in theory, be something completely horrific that you can embrace, if you feel the need. I've always been fond of wide-open forks in the plot, where a decision really does seem to have some impact on how the story unfolds. Mask of the Betrayer, as an extension of the original Neverwinter Nights 2 campaign, is a strong RPG and something any D&D fan should check out. “

Перше доповнення мабуть найкращої гри в жанрі Фентезі варгейм\RPG “Кодекс войны” вже вийшло в продаж. Якщо ви пропустили оригінальну гру (гріх!), то саме час пограти в доповнення, тим паче “Кодекс войны: Высшая раса” не вимагає вже установленої оригінальної гри.

Basilisk Games представило демо гри Eschalon: Book 1 для ОС Linux. Повна версія має з`явитися на цій неділі.
